Plucking strings and broken wings
are the things that defined my Ponyville Summer

"Well, I'm off." I said as I gave a wave of my hoof to my friends.
"Make sure you contact us when you get there, okay?"
"I will." I said as I took off toward Ponyville

When Nice Nurse Mare, from urgent care
put my wings in slings oh gosh what a bummer

As I flew, a flock of birds blew straight past me, as if they were running from something. At that moment, I noticed that a giant rainstorm was barreling toward me.
I flew as fast as I could, but not fast enough as the rain got to me. It pounded my entire body, leaving my vision obscured. Trying to wipe the rain from my eyes, I flew straight into a tree, smacking into it face first.
I passed out from the pain. The only thing I felt was a sharp stabbing pain in both of my wings. When I came to, I looked at my wings, which were in a scraggly, bloody mess. Heaving myself up, I dragged myself into Ponyville through the rain and managed to get to urgent care, where I collapsed in the doorway.

But you wouldn't care when you're in the care of
When you're in the care of Lyra and Bon-Bon

After about a week in urgent care, the nurse finally let me go free, but my wings were still healing, so it's not like I could've just gone home. As I trotted through town, I finally came to the Motel I was looking for. But, Unfortunately, the "No Vacancy" sign flashed. I let out a deep sigh and continued on my quest for someplace to stay.

I looked all day, for a place to stay
But "No Vacancy" signs went on for miles

I continued to look for a hotel to stay until the sun went down and almost all of the ponies were in their homes for the night. All but two. A tan colored mare with a pink and purple mane and tail. She had a cutie mark of candy pieces. My guess was that she makes candy?
The other mare had an aqua coat and a mane and tail to match. She had a cutie mark of a small harp. Maybe she played music for a living.

They saw my cast, they didn't even ask
they took me right in to stay for a while

The stopped me and asked why I was walking around and not at home. I explained to them my situation and they invited me to stay with them, even if I haven't even learned their names.
As we walked, I learned their names were Lyra and Bon-Bon. Very fitting names, in my opinion. They were very friendly and talkative as we walked. Once we were there, they gave me a room fully furnished for as long as I needed it.

You wouldn't ask why when you were as desperate as I
You don't ask why when it's Lyra and Bon-Bon

On cold rainy days, I would stay inside and talk to Lyra and Bon-Bon to keep them company and I couldn't believe how they treated each other. They were an amazing couple. Every kiss they shared was as if it was their last. I loved watching them on those cold days. It made me feel warm inside.

I watched them together while under the weather
and couldn't believe my eyes

After meeting most of the ponies in Ponyville, I continued to hang out with Lyra and Bon-Bon. They were my best friends, even after dealing with me after all this time.
It made me kind of jealous about how much they were in love. I would love to have a mare who treated me like they did to each other.

two ponies like this who share every kiss like they'll share the rest of

their lives
It made me blue and a little bit green
that they were flushed red with love
I'm too yellow to tell them that I'm leaving today
under the orange sunset up above

By the end of the summer, all of the hotels started opening back up and by then, I didn't feel the need to stay with them. Of course I would stay in Ponyville a bit longer, but not with Lyra and Bon-Bon. I was my own stallion and I needed to prove it to the rest of Ponyville. And, with that thought, I waved them goodbye and trotted off toward the nearest hotel.

Plucking strings and broken wings
are the things that defined my Ponyville summer...

okay, so, I was listening to "Summer" by :iconjackleapp: about a week ago, and I kept telling myself "I'm gonna do it!" and, of course, like me, I kept pushing it off and forgetting about it, so, while I had nothing to do, I DID IT!

Enjoy!~
Give credit to :iconjackleapp: for the song!~
